Accessibility Statement
Updated July 5, 2026 · Sure Step Education LLC
The short version: we're special education teachers. Accessibility isn't a compliance checkbox for us — it's the population we serve. Our target is WCAG 2.1 AA across this site and every teacher-, student-, and parent-facing surface we ship, and we want to hear about anything that falls short.
Our commitment
Sure Step Education aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That applies to this website today and is the standard we build our products against as they mature.
What's in place on this site
- Semantic landmarks, headings, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Full keyboard operability — navigation, video dialogs, and horizontal content are all reachable and dismissible without a mouse, with visible focus indicators throughout.
- Color contrast tuned to AA, including dedicated text-safe color tokens (our amber text color exists specifically because the decorative amber didn't pass).
prefers-reduced-motionhonored: animations and scroll effects are disabled for users who ask their system for less motion, and all content remains visible with JavaScript off.- Alt text for meaningful images; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Text scales with browser and system settings; layouts reflow rather than clip.
Our products
Product interfaces used by teachers, students, and families are being brought to the same WCAG 2.1 AA bar, and we document conformance per product as we go. An Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) for DailyWins is available to districts on request, with reports for the other tools to follow. If your procurement process needs one, ask — that's a normal request and we treat it that way.
Known limitations
We're a young company and we'd rather be honest than polished: some product screens still have gaps we're working through, and third-party content we embed (like YouTube's video player) has its own accessibility characteristics we don't control. When a district's review finds something we missed, it goes on the fix list — not in a drawer.
Tell us what's broken
If anything on this site or in our products is hard to use with assistive technology, email hello@surestepeducation.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line. A founder reads it, and you'll hear back within two business days.
